This was the announcement for the Intermedia Arts Festival, a Fluxus exhibition, at Nikkei Hall in Tokyo, January 18. "Fluxus," from the Latin word "to flow" describes an art form which began in the 1960s combining different media and artistic disciplines. It has been likened to a modern form of Dadaism. The term "Intermedia" was coined by Dick Higgins in 1966 as a word used to describe Fluxus. Japan had its own circle of Fluxus artists, including Yoko Ono, Toshi Ichiyanagi, Shigeko Kubota and Mieko Shiomi.
